The Artists' Association of Finland / Suomen Taiteilijaseura
The Artists' Association of Finland is the umbrella organisation of Finnish artists' unions and associations. It represents  three thousand visual artists (practically all Finnish professional visual artists), looks after their interests and speaks for art.

Kolme tuhatta kuvataiteilijaa – eli lähes kaikki suomalaiset ammattikuvataiteilijat – kuuluvat omien, taiteenlajikohtaisten liittojensa kautta Suomen Taiteilijaseuraan. Suomen Taiteilijaseura on vuonna 1864 perustettu kuvataiteilijoiden edunvalvoja ja äänitorvi.

Helsingin Ylioppilasteatteri
Taso vaihtelee, mutta YT on tärkeä instituutio. Parhaat tekijät tulevat Suomen teatteritaiteeseen usein YT:n kautta. Saavutti ehkä tähänastisen taiteellisen huippunsa Minna Harjuniemen ja Aune Kallisen johdolla vuosina 2001–2004, mutta on sen jälkeenkin ajoittain yltänyt yhtä huimiin saavutuksiin, kuten esimerkiksi silloin kun Susanna Kuparinen (1974–) ohjasi sinne Valtuusto-trilogiansa: Valtuusto (2008), Valtuusto – Välikysymys (2008) ja Valtuusto – Välikysymys – totuus Voutilaisen kalustehankinnoista (2009).

Von Krahl Theater
I directed a play – Harmoonia – there in 2008. Von Krahl and its benign competitor Theater NO99 are I think the most exiting groups of the Estonian theater scene.

A few good bits about Kathy Acker (1947–1997), the truly disturbing – and yet hilarious – author:

I even saluted her in many paintings and also in at least one video of mine (Whore and Exploit, 1995) And I'm not going to give up on her now, even though I haven't read her books in a long time. Do The Math
The Bad Plus Blog written mainly by the pianist of the trio, Ethan Iverson. In principle I hate the very idea of blogging. I'd rather want everybody to keep their half-baked diary scribbles to themselves. Life's too short for them. But this blog is a rare exception to the rule. Healthy reading for jazz buffs that already know the Penguin guides, All Music Guide and Blue Note, Impulse and Columbia liner notes by heart.
